When I write accents like tilde it doesn't work well

when I write accents like tilde it doesn’t work well, it looks like this n~ão instead of não.

I have TS 5.0.0-beta74 on a macbook pro.

Can anyone help?

Could you try disabling the rich text editor under Settings → Behavior → Text Editing → Use Rich Text Editor?
It does work fine under Windows, but there are known problems with the RTE using composed characters.

Tested this on b74 (and internal b75) and could write and send não to chat.

No matter if Rich Text was on or off.
But worth a try for you because i have to hold a button to get the accent.
