Windows screen sharing is laggy for others

Hello,

we’ve tried today the new update of TeamSpeak 6 and especially screen sharing, but other participants are reporting that my stream is lagging. However, I can’t see that in the preview.

Using the default encoder/decoder settings and a RTX 5090:

Could this be because the stream is encoded with AV1 and the participants cannot decode it? I haven’t been able to find out to change which encoder is used for the stream. Otherwise, I would’ve tried H264. All participants were using the latest windows build.

Same issues here.

The Streamer and the Viewer can right click the stream to get information about what codec is being used.

Screen sharing uses AV1 for me and a friend who’s using Arch Linux + Gnome (Wayland) reports me the same issues, stream is lagging.

the bitrate looks really low for 1440p streaming. What is your selected bitrate when you start the stream?
Maybe try to stream with 30 fps maybe that makes a difference.

Yup, it’s weird because I’ve selected 10k as my bitrate. There’s also no difference between 60 ↔ 30 FPS or even with a lower resolution.

Have you modified any advanced settings for your encoder or is it untouched?

For me it’s untouched and I feel same issues as written above. I see lag also on my left monitor, when I watch my own stream.

By “advanced settings”, do you mean this part?

If so then yes, it’s untouched. I generally use the default settings, expect for the bitrate.
