How do I get a new recovery key? // My Badges are not shown in client

okey thx. so i want to have same email on teamspeak account but i also cant change email in profile. i have mail on old email and i didnt changes. but when i get 2nd email where i want to change it i cant change. how it fix?

Hello anyone knows where i can find the new account recovery key? I createt one new Key but i dont know where it is.

Probably you have saved it, you can find it at your place. If you haven’t saved it somewhere, you’ll have to create another one and save it.

Hey, I can refer to this Topic if you have any Questions about the recovery Key

How do I get a new recovery key? My Badges are not shown in client - TeamSpeak Client - TeamSpeak

The only way to get your key back if you have lost it is to use the fallback method.

Yeah i dont have the key i create a new one but where i can find the new one no window opens.

I see. You can only create a new recovery key if your data is decrypted. If your data is encrypted, you have to delete it first and then create a new recovery key. For this you have to do the fallback.

Is it possible that you recently have reset your password? Then your data can only be decrypted with your old recovery key.

I have been using teamspeak for many years… Im facing this issue and i cant fix it i tried reinstalling making new key etc but my sync data cannot be seen i dont know why …
i had so many bookmarks and powers on different channels when i signin to my team speak it doesnt show any thing but asks for a decryption key which i didnt setup in the first place …
I tried recovering the key few years back and then putting the new decryption key but my data doesn’t seems to sync and show … Can anyone help please this is annoying…

If you don’t have your recovery key and you haven’t saved your identity or bookmarks locally, there is no way to get the data recovered/decrypted.

You now need to do a fallback to get a new key. You will loose the synchronized data expect badges, they are bound to your account.

Im logged in to myTS, I have proper sync setup. This situation is new for me because I don’t had any problems before.
I forgot password before log-in after format pc and must change it so I think this is why I had message about use recovery key.
But I don’t understand how I can restore it. I don’t have any local files so I can’t copy/paste in proper folders.

I used fallback option and I suppose overrided everything what I had?

This Fallback option will erase the information currently in your myTeamSpeak account but will allow you to use the same email address/account for further use.
This will delete your cloud saved data and overwrite it with what the local client has cached. If there is no local cache, then your data is lost.

If you reset your password, the client can no longer decrypt the data which is stored encrypted in the cloud. Thus, the client asks for the recovery key to be able to decrypt the data. If you didn’t save your recovery key then you will have to use the fallback option

For me, the inability to sync without using the recovery key is a misunderstanding, but okay. A lesson for the future, not to leave anything in someone else’s hands. No offence to anyone of course.

Regards

Someone else’s hand? :face_with_monocle:

It was in your hand and any of our clients told you so.

Even the website told you that you will lose your data in case you do not have your recovery key ready. And you had to accept that.

This is how encryption works when only you got your data and no company can grab it whenever they like.

Can we do something to make it more clear?

As i said in the description i was hacked. So my E-Mail adress was gone and somebody changed all my passwords. i fixed it with many supporters. Now i wanted to go to my TS account and join the ts i always join. But all my favorite servers weren’t saved any longer, also my ids were gone.
can u help me fix the Problem here ?

Sorry to hear that!

You must enter the Recovery Key after a password reset, or your synced stuff is gone.
You got the Recovery Key when you logged in for the first time or when you did generate a new one in any of our clients.

Hey,

maybe someone can help me. I did a fresh reinstall of windows, downloaded Teamspeak 3 and logged into the client. Usualy my fav list appeared as it was before the fresh windows installation since it’s saved on my Teamspeak account and thus cloud based, right? At least that was the case the years before.

Isn’t that the case anymore? If not is there a way to manually add all the server again via a config file or something like that? I’ve a save copy of my appdata folder etc. if the server list and server rights are saved there…

Thanks in advance!

Best regards
