I could reproduce it. It’s easier as i thought (at least for 3.6.0).

  1. Type at least one character into input field.
  2. Click on a user or channel in server tree.
  3. Done

We are going to fix this.

its really pathetic that its still not fixed. Its imposible to use chat if you have any ts with bot that is updating channels for example. Every update it resets text area and delete what you wrote

Beta 3.6.1 was released and has a fix for the placeholder in chat
