So i will use the server for an “RTO” Upt o 30 people will join and can join, but i gotta run other things and can’t have my laptop open all the time that’s why i need hosting, but free server hosting would be better way better know any?
The free license is up to 32 slots. That’s right, for the server to work your PC/Laptop would have to be turned on. Unfortunately, I don’t know any host that offers a free service, but what I can recommend is that you can simply use some public servers for free.
IP: beta.voice.teamspeak.com
IP: community.voice.teamspeak.com
wait so if i sign the servername on the public ip I don’t need to local host it?
If you host the server from your computer, the IP for the connection would be your IP.
I downloaded ts3 server and created a server. I’ve forwarded all the ports that were needed. I’ve did that thing in the firewall with ts 3 server, but my friends still can’t join. I can join to it. I have a wired connection with my router (cat6).
Hi Chris, may I just have some background info about the router problem when both protocols are set in one rule?
I recently worked on solving a connection problem to my TS server and it turned out to be exactly what you said, i.e., I switched 9987 port rule from TCP/UDP to UDP and it worked.

So, replaced my Asus RT-AC68 with a GT-AX6000, set up the port forwards on the new router and haven’t had any luck connecting from external sources. I double checked my windows firewall exceptions, and connected locally to make sure the server was running. I’ve tried turning off various firewalls on both the router and the computer to confirm, and at this point I’m beyond my limited expertise. I need a second set of eyes on this. Is there any default settings that I might need to change on the new router?
Edit: To clarify, this server was running prior to the hardware change.
Maybe your forwarding guides to wrong LAN IP or router doesn’t support that LAN user can use external IP to connect (read the manual or contact their support).
LAN IP is correct, I can connect locally using the IP specified in the port forwarding. Additionally, the router has been set to associate that mac address with that local IP. I have already read the minimal documentation provided by the manufacturer and was hoping someone could provide either additional tests I can run to narrow down the issue or some other information that would help me narrow my search for solutions.
In general, I created a teamspeak server in Windows 10. It is located at the address 192.168.47.100. Now I want this server to be accessed from all over the world. I bought DNS hosting. I know my white IP address. Who can help you step by step and tell you in DETAIL how it is done?
You do not change it.
You got an external IP available or your don’t. By default the server listens to all available IPs.
- Open port 9987 (UDP) in your router and allow the server in your firewall. Done.
I made a localhost ts3 server out of my files, and idk how to invite people to it. I obv can’t give them the localhost address. How do I invite people to the localhost ts3 server?
You need to forward the required ports and then they need your public IP so they can connect to it.
Here is the forum thread with a more detailed instruction.
Trying to setup a new TS3 server, I can connect to it using localhost, but other users cannot connect. Forwarded UDP 9987, TCP 10011 and 30033. Where am I going wrong?
(The other users can connect to the test server, so it is not a problem with their client.)
Do you give them your correct IP address?
Send them the IP this website shows you: https://icanhazip.com/
Otherwise did you follow all of these steps? Maybe the server is blocked by the firewall.
Yes, I have already seen that post and followed the steps.
I have also tried with both the address from that website and the adress which I get by searching What is my IP?
on google, both give the same error Failed to connect to server.
I dont know if im doing the right thing and replying to 10 month old tread (threat? idk)
I have done the things lister but still noone else can join outside network.
I have made a post about all of stuff i did idk if i should send it here aswell.
In short, i did port forward (i know it works cuz other app/game servers does work), firewall exeption, test from outside network. Idk if its allowed to link another topic here so ill play it safe and wont till someone asks.
Hello, I want to start a teamspeak server for me and my friends. I have downloaded the server aswell as ts3. I have port forwarded thru my wifi (i cant confirm if its correct way), I have done some sutff in firewall settings and my friend is trying to connect through my IP and the :9987 behind thing. Still, we can’t figure it out, and we can’t get much help from videos either since they don’t exaplin how to fix the problems that I have. Please someone who has done it, help!
You might have a look at the first post to see if you find a solution there.
Have you checked your firewall rules?
