Hi. When I try to create community, it’s give me this error: Region do-fra-1 is currently unavailable
My understanding is that there will be self-host options, but details are not released on that yet.
I hear someone may be working on some things, and it may show that or even not show your community if you’ve created one already. Please try again in a little bit.
TS6 density vs TS3
This is with everything as small/compact as possible currently, with font size reduced to match TS3.
Hi,
I am glad to have a new TS6 client update after many years of development. Congratulations to the developers for finally releasing this long awaited client.
If you ask me I am hosting a TS Community since many years and I have been thru many ups and downs. My Review for TS6:
1. Updated UI: I like the overall design but the icons and ts channels etc are way too big. I am pretty sure this will be disliked by most of the users and there must be another option to shrink it like 20% more.
2. Group Chat: I really do not understand the logic behind group chat. You create a group chat and invite your friends in it. A few people who are regularly connected to each other will definitely love to chit chat with each other but it serves no other purpose.
3. Screen Sharing: TS6 was mainly developed with the prime focus on developing a screen sharing feature. I feel TS Developers have done a good job with this feature and I believe when TS Servers are released this will be a good feature.
Suggestions
- Improvement in placement of Icons: Mute Icons are in really bad position. TS3 client defnitely looks okay with this placement but I disliked the way these icons are placed on TS6 client (I am aware these icons used to be placed approximately same location in TS5 client as well for years.) I would prefer to have them placed either next to my avatar because this is where I change my settings, status etc.
- Server Header: As we are into a more advanced UI the Server Header must itself become an important focus point. People like to keep nicely devloped server banners for it. Please allow us to add banners and increase its width a little bit.
- UI Improvements: Icon and channel size can have another shrunken down version. (I am still okay with this.)
- Screen Share: Another permission must be given to the client to allow GPU encoding. CPU encoding wont enable players to live stream high CPU intensive games. P2P is impossible at this moment.
- Group Chat: There is no utility of this chat for me. It is hard to invite people into a group chat which is not connected to a TS Community Server. Also if u include a large number of people into the group chat there is no way you can put everything into just a few sticky messages on top which completely diminishes the utility of this csystem.
- TS Community Chat: There must be a persistant mulitple channel chat systems for Teamspeak Servers. The group chat is not helpful in interacting with a community. Chats are important for group discussions, notifications, announcements, etc. Even if we keep using Group chats as for community nobody will join plus 1 chat can become spammy as hell and as Syox mentioned everything can be missed.
- Please Introduce Private Servers: Looking forward to upgrade my TS3 Server to TS5 Server. If this is delayed at least tell the server requirements.
- Competition with Discord: I am pretty sure this is a really not a place to say this but as the entire Teamspeak’s advertising before the release today was based requesting old users to uninstall discord because the old reliable teamspeak is back I would say you need to provide enough features to compete with discord. After so many years in development if u want people to switch here you need to give them something better.
- Roadmap: Please do mention if you have any plans on bringing in some important features for TS Servers and Clients so we can know what features are currently under development.
I would suggest more UI changes in the future as there can be many improvements to enhance looks.
I am really sorry If I made some negative comments. Thank you for the new client guys.
How do I make calls on group chats? I see an option for screen sharing but not calling despite the fact that there’s a permission setting for calls.
3 points:
- It should have an option to select encoder. It is using CPU to encode screenshare, and I have AV1, for example. It would be good to have this option.
- Need Brazil servers. Bought community server, but only US and EU is complicated, 120ms
- Host own server in future should allow to screenshare as well. Dont take this freedom away
I also have this issue. The server is inaccessible
I have the same issue. I just bought a subscription and I can’t even access my community
My community server (“Team” subscription) has been stuck on “Starting Community” for the past hour. Not sure what else I can do from the admin panel.
The page does not auto-refresh, or if it’s supposed to doesn’t always do it. Try going to another area of myteamspeak and returning to the community page.
At this time they have not enabled calling features of chat groups or private chats. For voice conversations you’ll need to connect to an existing voice server, or create your own, then in the chat with the user(s) you can send an invite link to the server/room you are in.
Auto refresh does nothing. They need to fix their server provisioning ASAP.
1gb seems joke, and too few people connected at the same time,Need to increase the maximum number of connections
So the screen sharing feature cannot run on a self hosted server? The official personnel have not provided information on whether this feature will be applied to self hosted servers in the future? If that’s the case, I don’t think it has any competitiveness compared to Discord. After several days of hype on X, I am somewhat disappointed with this. I just hope the management can give a yes or no answer. I know it’s currently in beta version, and if I know that screen sharing will be added to self hosted servers in the future, I can wait.
I looked through the code a little and found that the values for this are hardcoded.
I don’t understand exactly why. You could also read it using :
window.getComputedStyle(document.body).getPropertyValue(<var_name>)
via the css :root variables, and this would give Custom-Themes the chance to change this.
so there is – According to my research – currently no way to change this unless you edit the js file directly.
Not having community servers being able to host screen sharing is a no go in my book and for many I know.
Anyways also the UI design has not been made better its so frustrating and confused… Buttons and navigation is all over the place and rather confusing.
So you totally destroyed the good looking TS5 channels UI, temporarily paywalled/restricted the most expected feature of the software, and said 0 clear information to the community after hyping this to the moon? Come on, you can do better…
will we get more payment option besides card ?
So i cant share screen at selfhosted servers?
Or i just must wait for update server files
