Banger! Finally Server Files. Happy testing
Edit: I was so ready to update my server, but since there are usually between 5-12 people online I can’t do it. 5 slots are really too few for testing. This is very disappointing

5 slots gotta be some kind of sick joke. I slowly get the feeling you guys want to kill TeamSpeak as a product.
How do you expect people to actually test this? I’m rarely in a voice chat with less than 5 people, let alone on a server with so few people…

TBH, I’m kind of disappointed with this release, for now it’s more logic to use old TeamSpeak 3 server. You can’t screenshare there, but you can use all other features with more slots free. 5 slots is really useless, we don’t have community and 5 slots is too low amount of users for friends-related usage.

As programmer, I really don’t get it, what’s the point of self hosted server, if all chats and attachments are send to your servers (with limitation of 5 MB), screenshare is p2p, there is only voice going through self hosted server, this is not logic to me, sorry.

I think investitor should come to this project and employee more devs, everything is moving so slow with wrong decisions, I’m afraid to ask what’s going on with mobile apps - which are must have 2025.

This is not hate message, just honest disappointment from me.

My question is what should actually be tested? Is there any changelog available? Apart from the streaming button, I haven’t found anything new.

Why is screen sharing not available on our own server? It was supposed to be supported for private servers. Also, the 5 slot limit is honestly a joke it’s way too low for any serious use.

EDIT: there is really nothing to test

TBH, 5 slots is just way too few. Is there no other way to increase the slots? Also, why doesn’t self-hosting support server-mode screen sharing? And the default server name being ‘TeamSpeak V Server’? All these things make me feel like this product is half-baked.

Same as the brother above.
This is not a hate message, just honest disappointment from me.

puh, the 5 slots limit makes it impossible to test in a realistic environment.

Keeping in mind this is an initial beta release, I don’t think the lack of server screen sharing is that big an issue. The 5 slots on the other hand feels overly strict, and 10 slots would be more reasonable if restrictions are needed.

Of course, it’s a big issue. Voice chat already works well with TS3 servers, so what’s the point of TS6 servers then? Everyone is waiting for screen sharing. This is really disappointing.

P2P streaming/screen sharing is availalbe though. I can understand the disappointment to some extent, but at the same time it’s an initial beta release…

I have a completely different problem. Apart from the 5 slots. I have 2 servers, a VPS and a root server (@ home). On the VPS I get the following error message all the time when installing and on the root server it works without problems.

2025-07-01 15:02:19.468437|CRITICAL|UDPSockets    |   |Assertion "thread_pool_size > 0 && thread_pool_size < 31" failed at ../../../deps/teamspeak_common_lib/src/net/udpsockets.cpp:22;

VPS - Server for testing:

  • 2 Cores
  • 2 GB RAM
  • 20 GB Storage

Root - Live Server:

  • 64 Cores
  • 128 Threads
  • 256 GB RAM
  • ~60TB Storage

Was looking forward to testing this but the slot limit is a full non-starter, I won’t even bother.

Even the inclusion of the word “license” is making me cringe. Good luck killing discord with licensing costs for self-hosted servers.

Not sure what has changed, but it looks like a beta3 has just released.

Where is the best place to start? Extremely many users have been waiting for months to test the new server version only to be put off by the 5 slots. Of course it’s only for testing purposes, but you could have left the slots as they were for the test phase or even increased them slightly to allow new people to get started with Teamspeak, who could then become new customers after the test phase. I see no reason for a limited test phase of the server to scare off potential customers. Teamspeak simply needs to reposition and reorient itself in terms of licences and slots, a simple and attractive, competitive offer needs to be created.

Hey, do you want to troll us somehow? What’s with this completely stupid 5 user limit? Can you please explain it to me rationally? How am I supposed to test this thing properly if we can’t even spend time together on the server? With a 5 user limit the thing will stay empty, that’s the reality.

Set the limit to 32… my goodness

We’ve made some minor documentation and configuration adjustments with v6.0.0-beta3.

Yes, thank you. But please explain the 5 user limit.

User limit needs to be at least 10. Can you fix this?

I was soooooo excited when the files were released. I instantly booted up a new container and after 3 minutes of configuration was met with the disappointment of a limit of 5 users. This isn’t even enough for me and my friends to play a game together tonight.

I get that TeamSpeak needs to make money somehow but a user limit this low shouldn’t really be the way. If at some point TeamSpeak wants to try and compete with Discord there really needs to be a different way of monetizing.
