so it does not include self hosted servers ? or did I misread ?
If that’s the case, huge L
My Opinion on TeamSpeak 6
I think TeamSpeak 6 is overall okay, but there are several points that bother me and need improvement:
Design and Usability
- Channel size and font size: The channel size and font size are way too large. Also, the spacing between channels is unnecessarily big, making the interface look cluttered and harder to navigate.
- Server banners: The server banners only refresh when joining the server. On my server, I want the banner to refresh every 60 seconds, but it doesn’t work as expected.
Community Servers (Hosted by TeamSpeak)
- Pricing: The pricing for community servers is far too high. You said you aim to compete with Discord Nitro, but you’re offering similar pricing to Discord Nitro. This makes it hard to justify using your service, especially for those looking for a cheaper alternative. (Image reference)
Functionality
- Copy-paste issues: Copying and pasting does not work in the “add contact” section. This makes it tedious to add new contacts manually, as you cannot copy-paste IDs or other information.
- Channel permissions: It seems like channel permissions are missing or very hard to find. This is a core feature of TeamSpeak, and its absence or lack of visibility is a major issue.
- Screen sharing (P2P): Screen sharing in TeamSpeak 6 is peer-to-peer (P2P), meaning your IP address is directly shared with the other party. This poses a potential security risk, as some individuals might exploit this to launch DDoS attacks. Users need to be cautious about who they stream with to avoid such risks.
Missing TS6 Servers
- No TS6 server support: Despite the launch of TeamSpeak 6, we are still stuck using TS3 servers. There are no dedicated TS6 servers available yet, which feels like a missed opportunity for a better integration with the new client and features.
- Update or reconfigure? When the TS6 server files are finally released, will it be possible to simply update an existing server, or will all settings (e.g., channels, groups, permissions) need to be reconfigured from scratch? This is an important question for server admins, as starting over would be a significant inconvenience.
Removed Homebase System
- Homebase system: The Homebase system, introduced during the TS5 development phase, has been removed entirely. This is disappointing, as it could have been a great solution for managing self-hosted chats and screen sharing via servers, providing more control and eliminating the risks of P2P connections.

Hey, I am having a problem watching/streaming. The problem is with an endless connection, but only with one person.
So I tested it with 3 people so far, and when one of them streams I don’t see his stream and when I stream he cannot connect. Everything works well with a third person he can see both streams from both people and can stream to everyone.
I checked the wireshark, trying to connect to a stream of the person with whom I am having problems, the STUN messages seem to be passing to the end connection and back from the person with whom we are having problems, but the messages go endlessly, until the server stops accepting them. It seemed to be working when I turned on VPN. Would appreciate any help

Did you manage to get someone else to confirm that they can see your screen? I’m also on arch with X11 and can stream apps as well as my screen, but the moment my buddy tries to watch I see a little exclamation mark appear saying that my fps is 0 (thus nothing is actually streamed).
Did. Doesnt change anything.
So you’re teasing us with the new servers but wont let us play with them hm?
Yes, it worked for me. My friend on windows confirmed that he saw my Desktop and what I was sharing. I did have to pause und unpause the stream for that though. (Click into the streamwindow twice). Maybe that works for you too
It’s really odd, I just did a session with someone else and when they switched to X11 it worked for them, they’re on the same nvidia driver as me. Only difference of note is that I’m on the zen-kernel (and they were on plain linux).
This is the more detailled info I get when I click the exclamation mark
Sadly the camera and screenshare performance is incredibly bad. 20% cpu on my brand new top tier amd cpu while playing is insane compared to a few % on discord
When can we expect an update of server files for self hosters like my team?
Is it still in “Starting community”? Because I have the same.
No 7-day trial with annual? If starting on 7-day trial on monthly rate, can it be converted to annual before being billed?
I’m guess this will be more of a question for when the self-hosting options comes out, but I’ll ask since it could impact choosing monthly or annual rates. If a hosted community server is started, how easy is it planned that that community could be migrated to a selfhost option, and then the monthly/annual leased server stopped? And if on an annual plan is would there be any credit back for unused months?
Server Update for Linux When?
Though this would be a redesign with new features? but then they are paywalled and the new design still sucks.
Seems like I need to stay on TeamSpeak 3 for the time
Past days we see the discord end with this, didnt change the business model that the L
It seems like the screen share feature will only work with Community Servers. This sucks!
