Part of the problem with this response is it doesn’t really answer the question of “is it planned to be released eventually?” Hopefully a simple yes or no could be provided as that would help to settle things down surrounding this topic.

The entire selling point for many of us was self-hosted screen-sharing, otherwise this is just discord with extra steps.
Especially disappointing for those of us returning to teamspeak after years hoping for this.

Probably because a lot of people are using self-hosted solutions, and it is rather underwhelming when a major feature is released but is hid behind a paywall

With TS6 releasing their new update, where are the actual server files to self host the server as promised on twitter? Currently I can only find the TS3 server files. If all the new features they have showed off in the last few days, if that is locked behind a paywall, that is an extremely bad idea.

I guess so. They might be releasing the server files soon, it would be such an idiotic idea to keep it hidden behind a paywall. I really can’t see them doing it.

I think paywall is one thing but unable to get 100% feature with selfhost is just bad, its like 90% charm of ts

My group were only considering trying TS over discord because of the new features and i conveniently have a server rack, we’ll honestly probably forget about TS by the time the self-host server files are out and just stick with Discord.

Bumping the previous response again. As soon as I am able to give you all an update on the server files, I will do so. I unfortunately can’t give you any ETA as of now.

Yeah brother. This tells us absolutely nothing. This doesnt tell us:

  1. If the server files are actually being released.
  2. If the server files are going to be released, but features are still going to be paywall locked.
  3. IF they are going to release the server files, how long till they actually release or atleast give us a time window.

Just shitty practice to hype this up massively, and be a huge let down to make a few bucks.
