You can't connect to a server? // Can not connect to the server

There are many reasons why a connection could not be made to desired server.

  • Check that you really did entered the right address, IP or server nickname

  • Make sure, that your server is not offline. Yes this happens sometimes.
In that case ask a buddy to connect to the server or contact your server host/the admin.

  • Try to connect to our test servers first.

  • Can friends connect to the server? Compare what they did enter in their bookmark or Quick connect field.

  • Are you sure, you did not block the client in your firewall?

  • If it fails, check your firewall settings, maybe you have blocked the client or your disallowed UDP traffic through your router or firewall.

  • If you can reach the server, ask their server provider for network problems or maybe your or their provider blocked your country.

  • Make sure, that the server host has opened port 9987 for UDP traffic

  • Make sure your ISP allows voice programs which need UDP at all.

  • When connecting to a computer in own network always use the LAN IP of that computer. Same counts for mobile clients when you are connected in Wi-Fi.

  • Hint: The client does not need any port forwarding. You only need to be able to connect via UDP to servers.

Additional connection problems in mobile client (Android and iOS)

Follow all steps above first!

  • Use Wi-Fi when mobile connection is blocked from your mobile service provider or has a bad quality or an high ping.

  • Check your connection quality in 3G/4G/5G/Wi-Fi network.

  • Check your ping to target server.

  • Allow the client to connect if you have a antivirus or firewall installed

Troubleshooting for TeamSpeak Communitys

  • If you are using a Community, it might take a bit until the server is started and all network changes are made before you are able to connect. Based on the demand of servers that are created this may take a few minutes or even a few hours. We apologize in the meantime for the inconvenience.

  • If you still have issues when connecting, you may try suspending and creating a new one.

  • Sometimes it is helpful when you select a different server location.

  • If you still can not connect the Community, please reach out to [email protected], they are able to restart the server, or perform refunds if you are unsatisfied with the current situation.

After launching up ts6 or 3 i can’t connect to few servers, some of them working normally. After longer period of time 15minutes sometimes 30 minutes, it’s starting working and i can connect to them, but this problem happens every time i launch ts for the first time after turning on computer. Tried changing settings in firewall and nothing helped.

This is still ongoing for the community I ran for the last 2 months (NY3) as well as the new one I started this morning (NY1).

It affects all of my users located across the US and has been a constant thorn.

Can we investigate the DNS on NY1 please?

So I was curious, the bug that doesn’t allow you to join random community servers on TeamSpeak 6 seems to not been fixed still and it’s been there consistently for the client in a long time, I’m not using TS6 atm, but can someone tell me if this was already fixed?

Do you mean this crash?

No, I mean literally choosing a random community server (Not the popular choices) to join and not be able to… Afterwards it gives me an error, something like “Failed to connect” or “Failed connection initialization”

It’s not our fault. User error…

They need to enter the correct IP address for their server in the server settings.

So that means you have the option to add the Server to Public Directory, but tease people as well for not allow them to join? That’s so evil…

I mean the issue is that the IP doesn’t have a TS server running soooo :person_shrugging:

I still think the server Address should be verified somehow as been valid or not… Similar how Server Nicknames already work, so people won’t get confused about it.

For a first timer TeamSpeak user it really hurts to not be able to join any other server unless if it’s the top ones and also hurt the people hosting these community servers as well, since it’s unlike guests are going to guess which server got the setting right.
